What is Folgo for Google Chat?
With Folgo for Google Chat you can ask questions about activities in Google Drive via chat.
For example you can ask "What are the most viewed files in this shared drive?"
What are activities in Google Drive?
Activities are all actions performed by users in Google Drive. You can view them if you open the Activity sidebar in Google Drive. You will see who has created, edited, copied, renamed, shared, unshared (... and much more) files and folders in a specific location (eg: an entire Shared Drive).
But browsing this activity directly from Google Drive can be difficult, especially if you are interested in a specific event among a lot of different events (there are no filters or search bar, you can only scroll through the full activity list ordered by time, from the most recent to the oldest).
In addition to actions that change something in Google Drive (a file created, edited, deleted,...), you can use Folgo for Google Chat to ask questions about viewing activity: who has opened which file and when.
Use cases
Here are a few use cases where Folgo for Google Chat can be useful.
Currently you can only ask questions about content stored in a given Shared Drive
Track changes on content
Get a list of new files recently added to your Shared Drive, or files that have been edited.
Track user activity
Find out what a particular user did recently (eg: did user X deleted, shared or unshared content in the past 60 days?) or who are the most active contributors in your Shared Drive.
Track (external) sharing
Get a list of files that have been shared outside your domain, who shared them and to whom. Or list every sharing activity, including people who lost access to content.
Audit Trail for Compliance
Generate detailed reports of user activities and document histories to support compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. This use case is valuable for audits and ensuring that document handling meets required standards.
Inactive Content Identification
Identify files or folders that haven't been accessed or modified within a specific timeframe, helping to declutter the drive and archive or delete unnecessary data.
Audience & Requirements
Folgo for Google Chat can be used by Shared Drive managers to ask questions about Shared Drive they have access to.
