Move Content from a Spreadsheet
As an administrator, you can now easily move files from one folder to another directly from a spreadsheet. This guide will walk you through the process of migrating folders directly from a spreadsheet, ensuring an easy and controlled migration to your organization's Shared Drives.
Use Case
Moving files from a spreadsheet allows the administrators to handle multiple file moves at once, saving time and effort compared to manually moving each file individually. This functionality enables admins to manage file moves quickly and simply.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
- Admin tasks: Admin tasks must be set up on Folgo.
- Administrative Access: You must have admin privileges on Folgo.
Steps to Move Content from a Spreadsheet
- Prepare the Spreadsheet
You need to fill in the spreadsheet with the following columns:
- File ID: Enter the ID of the file to be moved.
- Destination Folder ID: Enter the ID of the folder or Shared Drive where the file should be moved.
- File Owner's Email: Enter the email of the file's owner.
Note: The file owner must have access to the destination folder. If not, the move will not be possible.
- Verify Permissions
Folgo will automatically verify if the file owner has the necessary access to the destination folder. If access is missing, the admin will need to adjust the permissions.
- Initiate the Move
After the spreadsheet is uploaded and permissions are verified, Folgo will initiate the file move to the destination folder.
