Grant File or Folder Access from a Spreadsheet


As an administrator, you can easily grant access to files or folders within your organization using a spreadsheet. This approach allows you to manage and assign file access in bulk, saving time and effort compared to granting access manually for each file or folder.

Granting file or folder access from a spreadsheet enables administrators to quickly share multiple files or folders with specific users, streamlining the access management process for larger teams or projects.

Steps to Grant File or Folder Access from a Spreadsheet

1. Open Folgo

  • Access Folgo in Google Sheets. On the right side, click on Admin Tasks and then click on the Grant File or Folder acess feature to get started.

2. Prepare the Spreadsheet

The spreadsheet should include the following columns:

  • File ID or URL: Enter the ID or the URL of the file or folder to which you want to grant access.
  • Owner Email: Enter the email address of the current owner of the file or folder.
  • Share With: Enter the email address of the user with whom you want to share the file or folder.

3. Initiate the Grant Access Process

  • Before proceeding, make sure all columns are correctly filled. Once everything looks good, click on the “Share X items” button.

Folgo will initiate the process of granting access to the selected files or folders.
